“Ok, today I will get myself together.”

Yesterday was horrible. So last night I told myself that tomorrow I would get up, get dressed, get productive, and stop feeling sorry for myself.

And then I found out my unemployment was denied. So much for the fresh start.

I sat there staring at the screen thinking, Are you kidding me?

I’m already trying to figure out what I’m doing with my life. I quit a job I had for twelve years. My kids are finally both in school.

I thought this was supposed to be the beginning of something.

Instead, today I feel scared.

And angry.

And embarrassed.

And completely unsure of myself.

Maybe this is what starting over actually looks like.

Not confidence.

Not a five-year plan.

Not waking up at 5 a.m. with a green smoothie and a vision board.

Maybe sometimes starting over looks like sitting at your laptop at 9 am after school drop-off and seeing your unemployment denial email.

What she can do:

I sat in my self pity for an hour and now I am going to get up go to the gym get a workout in and start my day.
